Faded Grandeur was born out of a deep love for our local surroundings, something that became clearer than ever during the stillness of the 2020 lockdowns. With travel plans on hold and everyday routines paused, many of us found ourselves rediscovering our own neighborhoods: strolling familiar streets, noticing hidden architectural gems, and appreciating green spaces in a whole new light. The simple act of walking down the same roads at different times of day revealed new perspectives and a fresh appreciation for the place we call home.

Eager to celebrate this renewed sense of place, we began creating simple typographic maps that highlighted the spots we were proud to call our own. What started as a personal project, capturing the essence of our local area, soon caught the attention of friends, neighbours, and others who also wanted a keepsake of the places that had come to mean so much during those uncertain times. They told us how these prints sparked memories of childhood adventures, shared family moments, and the comforting routine of everyday life.
